Robbie & Sugar

Both Robbie and Sugar were around 6-7 years old when they were dropped at MTSR. This happy story confirms how "senior" Shelties make the most wonderful additions to families! Please consider giving an older dog your heart and home! |

November, 2006 .....Dear Ann,
Thank you very very much for the work you do. Because of you, we have two
of the best dogs possible. Sugar and Robbie have settled in and stolen our
hearts! They have also stolen the hearts of every one in our families.
They now have their routine down pat. They wait on us to fix them breakfast
and then they eat and then let themselves out, down the steps, through the
doggie door and out into their fenced yard. After a while they come back in.
Robbie comes right up but Sugar stands and barks for a couple minutes and
then all of a sudden here he comes at full speed. Then we head off to work.
They have the run of the house while we are at work. We have yet to come home
to any messes of any type at all. Like I said, they are just about perfect.
In the evening they are waiting with big bushy tails waging when we get home.
Often we take them for a walk up the street which they really enjoy.
In the evenings after supper, they have begun to play and wrestle with each
other. Robbie has also begun to play fetch with a stuffed frog we bought them.
Every once in a while, Sugar will try to take it away and then Robbie just
runs away with Sugar right behind him. It is really fun to watch then run
and play now after they just laid around the first week we had them.
The Vet says they are close to their best weight now. They have slowed
down on their weight loss because they have become more active and are building
muscle.

We are looking forward to bringing them to the next reunion get together.
Be sure and count us in and let us know when it is.
