My Angel, Javy

Now I know for sure I was meant to keep Javy. I told you he’d been my comfort after losing one of my
shelties last December right before Christmas. Well, two Mondays ago my parents had to put down one of
their shelties that had cancer. I am very close to their dogs, too. Then, later that week we brought
another of my shelties to the vet who was lethargic and not eating. They said her liver was failing. As
the days progressed she was vomiting and unable to hold down even water. We made the tough decision to
put her down last Monday. Now my cat is sick, losing weight and they know he has kidney stones but other
than surgery there’s nothing they can do but keep him on medication.
He’s just come home from two nights at the vet on an IV.

As you can see I’ve had a rough time with my animals lately. I don’t know what I would have done without
this little angel’s head in my lap. The two dogs I’m left with (a rescued Golden and rescued Sheltie) are
not at all cuddly, though they will stay by me when they sense I am sad. After we put Tipper down last
Monday, my husband had to go out of town on business travel. Guess who not only slept in the bed with me,
but with his head on my pillow?! Hard to believe a house with three dogs in it can be lonely, but with
Dave gone, Mackyntosh and Tipper gone, and Midnight at the vet it sure was lonely.

So Javy has found his calling as my own personal therapy dog. I actually hope one day to make him a
“real” therapy dog, I’ll keep you posted. Hopefully I’ll remember my camera for beginner obedience graduation
day. We have these dog costume mortar boards and diplomas at the club for puppy and beginner classes!
